Legal Costs & Fees

At LISKO & ASSOCIATES, there is never a charge for an initial office visit. We want everyone to have an opportunity to have their case evaluated at no charge.

If you have suffered a personal injury from a car accident, animal bite or slip-and-fall these cases are handled on a contingent fee basis. You pay us only if we collect money for you. If we do not collect money for you there is never a charge for a legal fee or costs in a personal injury case.

There may be costs associated with pursuing your personal injury case. At LISKO & ASSOCIATES, we advance all of the costs. If we obtain a monetary settlement for the client, the costs are deducted from the client’s portion of the settlement or verdict.

In criminal cases fees and costs are quoted in advance of accepting any case. Lawyers are not permitted to handle criminal matters on a contingent fee basis. That is, they cannot charge you a fee only if they win.

At LISKO & ASSOCIATES, the fees for criminal cases are based on our more than 30 years of experience in the criminal justice system. Fees are normally charged as a flat fee. We also bill in stages so that if a case does not go to trial you do not pay a fee for going to trial.

If there are costs associated with the criminal case, those costs will be explained and quoted in advance. Costs in a criminal case may include hiring of expert witnesses, investigators, photographers and any other person necessary to effectively defend the client. With both criminal and civil cases, there is never a charge for the initial office visit or phone call.
